The Tim Hinderberger Memorial Scholarship Endowment fund has been established in the Franklin County Community Foundation by Tim’s wife, Lauren. After the fund reaches endowment ($5000), it will provide an annual scholarship for a graduating senior who is a resident of Franklin County, Indiana. Primary consideration will be given to a student who will be playing baseball or softball in college; Secondary consideration will be given to a student who is pursuing a degree in the field of either Forestry or Welding.
Tim Hinderberger was born August 3, 1958 to Charles and Laverne Hinderberger of Cincinnati, Ohio. The family purchased a farm and moved to Franklin County, Indiana in 1973. Tim was an avid sports enthusiast, playing baseball and football throughout high school and continuing softball after graduation with the Knights of Columbus and Valley House teams. Aside from sports, Tim had a true passion for the outdoors. He loved everything from deer hunting to rabbit season with his beagles, and just simply being in the woods. He was devoted to forestry and preserving the land and he participated in many land programs including founding his property as classified forest.
Tim was a very positive person who had such gratitude for life every day. He believed in leading by example and was a great teacher to many. He carried himself through life with grace and kindness, always willing to offer a helping hand. Tim was a hard worker and devoted 35 years to the Ironworkers, Local 44, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Tim was taken from us on October 3, 2011 at the early age of 53. He did not leave us behind without a gift, though. His life motto was to take one day at a time, and he gave so many the knowledge that with positive thinking there is nothing in life we cannot achieve; simply, have faith and never give up.
