MainSource Bank Fund for Community Grant Making

In December 2003, the MainSource Bank Board of Directors created the MainSource Fund for Community Grantmaking in the Franklin County Community Foundation.

The bank began the fund with $5,000. Thanks to the Lilly Endowment GIFT V challenge, the gift was matched, making the fund total $10,000. This community granting endowment allows the FCCF to make grants to local non-profit organizations for important projects each year. Because MainSource Bank did not designate how the funds are to be spent, the community foundations may target the areas they believe need funding the most.

MainSource Bank of Indiana, formerly Union Bank and People’s Trust Company, is a community bank located throughout Eastern and Southeastern Indiana. With an origin that dates back to February 17, 1873, Union Bank had the distinction of holding Indiana Banking Charter Number 1, issued on March 1, 1873. The home office is located in Greensburg.

MainSource Bank is a complete provider of both consumer and commercial financial services with an emphasis on customizing individual loan requests. In addition to providing banking services, MainSource bank also offers insurance and wealth management services.
