Robert & Joan Nau Family Fund

Robert (Bob) and Joan Nau were married on June 26, 1948. Akron, Ohio natives, they relocated to Brookville in 1968. Bob’s position as Plant Manager at Fry Roofing in Brookville led to a promotion to District Manufacturing Manager at Owens Corning Fiberglas and ultimately to an assignment to the corporate headquarters in Toledo, Ohio in 1982 as National Quality Control Supervisor. The family stayed in Toledo until 1997, when they returned to Brookville.

The Nau’s, who have five children, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, have always been active in the community. Joan has been a member of Tri-Kappa, Tri-Kappa Associate Chapter and the Daughters of Isabella. Bob’s involvement in the community has included membership in the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, St. Michael Parish Council, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Franklin County Community Foundation Board of Directors. The couple are members of St. Michael Parish.

Bob and Joan grew up in the era of the great depression. The couple understands that at times people have needs that cannot be met. The Nau’s interest in helping others and their love of community triggered their decision to establish the Robert & Joan Nau Family Endowment in the Franklin County Community Foundation. Grants from this endowment will be directed to St. Michael Parish. St. Michael will then distribute the funding to citizens in need of assistance. Primary consideration will be given to the blind or near blind, but any citizen in need will also be considered.
