In 2011, a beautiful gazebo was constructed on the Franklin County courthouse lawn in recognition of Franklin County’s Bicentennial celebration. FCN Bank was the major donor for the project.
The gazebo is part of the Hero Park that has emerged on the south end of the lawn as a tribute to the fallen heroes of the community. Benches for seating and entry ramps are currently being constructed to finish the project.
To support the ongoing maintenance of the gazebo, the Hero Park Gazebo Endowment has been established in the Franklin County Community Foundation. Income from this fund will be used for any maintenance and/or repairs needed to the gazebo in upcoming years.
