Harold & Mary Ann Geis Memorial Scholarship

The Harold & Mary Ann Geis Memorial Scholarship was established in 2010 by Harold Geis in memory of his wife Mary Ann. The fund will provide scholarships to students residing in Franklin County who have been a student at St. Michael School for a minimum of two years and graduated from St. Michael’s. The student most also be a member of St. Michael Parish.

Harold Geis enjoys going to mass at St. Michael Church during the week and seeing the school children participate in the mass. He has belonged to St. Michael Parish all of his life and was formerly a member of the church choir. He has also spent time in the past as a lector and an usher at St. Michael.

Harold and Mary Ann (Ratz) were married on November 23, 1950. Harold had lived in Brookville all of his life and Mary Ann was from Connersville. The couple had one son, Greg Geis. Harold and Mary Ann were married for 59 years when Mary Ann passed away on December 14, 2009. Harold’s dedication to his church and his desire to see the students of St. Michael School benefit are what prompted him to create an endowment in the Franklin County Community Foundation.
