George E. McKinney Memorial Scholarship

George E. McKinney served as principal of Brookville High School from 1942 until his death in 1966. He was the reason for the development of many activities and programs still associated with Franklin County High School. Under his leadership student council, National Honor Society, athletic council and annual prom were created at BHS. He was also active in starting the sports of football and wrestling at Brookville High School.

The George E. Mckinney Memorial Scholarship was established in 2000 by Victor Hauberg to honor the former Brookville High School principal. The scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating Franklin County High School student who wishes to continue his or her education.
