Chad Handley

Born on May 5, 1979, to Kenneth and Denise (Knecht) Handley, Chad Handley
proudly grew up in Brookville, Indiana. He graduated from Franklin County High
School and attended Ball State University, graduating with a degree in Landscape
Architecture. He had an incredible bond with his sister Carrie, and his proud big
sister was always a priority in his life. Chad married the love of his life, Jen Vail
on April 24, 2004, and they had two amazing kids, Quinn and Darby.
Chad was a real estate entrepreneur. He loved coaching youth basketball, traveling
with his family, spending time boating and participating in water sports with his
family and friends. Chad was the type of person who always put others first. He
enjoyed life and lived his with no regrets.
Chad passed away on June 5, 2021 after a heroic battle with pancreatic cancer. As
a legacy to him, his family has established the Chad Handley Memorial
Scholarship Endowment within the Franklin County Community Foundation.
The scholarship will be awarded annually to a student graduating from Franklin
County High School who plans to attend Ball State University and study in
Architecture & Planning or has an interest in Real Estate.
