This scholarship fund was created in memory of James P. Mullin (1907-1997).
James P. Mullin was born and raised in Franklin County, Indiana. After undergraduate, graduate, and law school, he worked in the East (American Friends Society of Philadelphia) before moving back to Brookville to practice law in 1946. He shared his love and knowledge of the county and its people with his wife and four daughters as he visited with people and traveled the many roads of the county.
In addition to his legal career, Mr. Mullin was a community leader serving on the Board of Trustees of The Brookville Foundation (which he founded in 1956), the Franklin County Historical Society (of which he served as president), the Indiana Civil Liberties Union, and the Library Committee of the Indiana Historical Society.
In establishing this scholarship Jim’s family and friends wish to recognize his commitment to serving his county and state.
