Walter & Marie Kremp Scholarship

On November 1, 1901 Walter Daniel Kremp was born to Michael and Lizzetta Hertel Kremp. He graduated from Brookville High School and attended college for a short period of time. Walter taught in Franklin County at Peterson School and Little Cedar Grade School before farming full-time.

Marie Lohrey Kremp was the daughter of John C. and Catherine Senefeld Lohrey. She attended school on Wolf Creek. She completed eight grades in seven years. In the years between finishing school and marriage she helped families with newborn babies. Walter and Marie married on June 18, 1929.

After marriage Marie became a housewife and worked side-by-side with her husband on the farm. They were both members of St. Thomas Lutheran Church.

The Walter and Marie Kremp Scholarship was established in 1999 by Marie Kremp to provide an annual scholarship to a graduate of Franklin County High School for the purpose of furthering his/her education.
