“Living Life in Full Bloom”, were the words on the last wall décor plaque that our granddaughter picked out for her room, the weekend of December 21st, 2018. That plaque was returned to us following her tragic death at 8:30 am on
January 5th, 2019. Words cannot describe our profound sorrow.
Brooklyn Annabel Young gave all who knew her, 11 years and 346 days of the greatest joy and love in their life. Her life, unexpectedly cut short, was full of song, dance and everything sports. Her friendship, smiles, hugs and incredible sense of humor brightened the gloomiest of days. Driven by her curiosities and discovery of what life had to offer her, she embraced every experience with love, an open mind and hard work. She discovered that she was great at many things.
We never imagined our lives without her. Although Brooklyn’s journey has ended, many are just beginning. Brook’s legacy lives on in every young person, willing to ask a question and setting out to search for the answer.
Our dream is that your community, who gave her so much, in such a short period of time, will celebrate The Brooklyn Annabel Young “Living Life in Full Bloom” Scholarship within the Franklin County Community Foundation,
and that all others will continue to give and receive in her loving memory.
Love, all that life has to offer and live yours to its fullest…IN FULL BLOOM!
This scholarship will be awarded for the first time in 2025, the year of Brooklyn’s graduating class. Students graduating from Franklin County High School with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are eligible.
