Bob & Marge Seibert Unrestricted Endowment

Born August 6, 1929, Bob Seibert grew up in Brookville, attending Brookville High School and graduating in 1947. Marge Offutt, a Connersville native, rode the Greyhound bus to Brookville to get to her job at the Dairy Bar. It was at that Dairy Bar that she and Bob met. The two dated and were married on July 1, 1951. They went on to have three children: John, Karen and Ted and have seven grandchildren.

In September of the year Bob and Marge were married, Bob went into the Army. He traveled to Korea where he guarded the prisoners of Kojedo. He fought on the front lines before safely returning home in April of 1953. After working at Philco for 16 years, Bob took a job at Moormans Manufacturing Company and sold feed to farmers in Franklin County. He did this for 30 years until he became ill shortly before his retirement. Bob passed away in January of 1993 from a brain tumor.

Because of their strong ties to Franklin County, Marge made the decision in 2007 to establish the Bob & Marge Seibert Unrestricted Endowment Fund in the Franklin County Community Foundation. Income from this unrestricted endowment will provide grants to community projects in Franklin County.

Bob was very dedicated to his profession as a feed salesman and to the Franklin County customers that he served. He periodically took both men and younger boys to Quincy, Illinois to visit the feed factory. His commitment to the residents of Franklin County will live on through this new endowment.
